Suicide Loss Information and Peer Support

To find a peer support group in your area:

You are not alone!

According to the Center for Disease control and Prevention (CDC),  49, 449 people lost their lives to suicide in 2022, making it the 11th leading cause of death in the US.  That's an average of 132 deaths by suicide each day!

Unfortunately the number of suicide attempts is even higher: In 2021, the CDC reported an estimated 12.3 million American adults seriously thought about suicide, 3.5 million planned a suicide attempt, and 1.7 million attempted suicide. 1.7 MILLION!

Though each situation is unique, and each loss an unspeakable tragedy, clearly, you are not alone.

Peer Support Can Help!

I strongly encourage anyone dealing with a suicide related loss to seek support through organizations such as the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention and that National Alliance on Mental Illness in your state.  In my experience, having peer support and participating in the programs these organizations offer can be life changing /saving.

I am currently co-facilitating an in person peer support group in Lebanon, NH and will be offering future zoom groups and discussions focused on specific aspects of grief and coping after suicide.  Please contact me for more information.

You don't have to face this alone!
