Vandora Tribus (The Current Favorite)

Vandora Tribus is actually my third attempt at a van build. In fact, the Tribus in her name means three (or third) in Latin. Vandora is in reference to Pandora's Box. Selling everything you own, grabbing the cat, and taking off in a van, is definitely a legendary leap of faith. And much like Pandora, I suspect there's trouble ahead.

According to Greek mythology, after opening the forbidden box, Pandora sat crying over the darkness she'd unleashed. When suddenly, from the depth of the infamous box rose hope. It is that hope I'm seeking. And that hope, which lead me to Vandora's name.

Third times a charm! (I hope!)

Kintsugi Dash  (The Latest Experiment)

Kintsugi is a Winnebago Solis Pocket (36A).  She is also my 5th!!  (Yes - you read that correctly, my 5th attempt at finding a van that works for me. )   She was purchased in Sept. of 2021 from the wonderful folks at NIRVC in Nashville, TN, and so far, so good!

For those who are wondering, my 4th van (Moose) is hardly worth mentioning.  Moose, a Winnebago Revel 44e,  lasted all of 4 months.

Anyway, Kintsugi got her first name from the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by filling the cracks with gold. The idea being that the flaws ultimately make the piece more beautiful.  While the "Dash" represents the dash between the date of birth and death on a typical gravestone. It's a reminder to me to live life, (i.e. "the dash") fully while you still can, and hopefully with a little gold in the cracks.
